Cwmtydu is just South of New Quay, a 26 minute (13 mile) drive from the cottage. There is a circular walk with secluded bays, an iron age fort and waterfalls. Park in Cwmtydu, take the coast path to the North and you'll see a bay with an island and the ruins of a fort on the edge of a cliff. This is Castell Bach. From here head inland towards the house on the headland. After the house watch out for a footpath to the left down into the valley. Follow the valley (and the stream) and you'll find the waterfalls. Across the valley you can take the footpath towards the coast that takes you to a secluded cove called Cwn Silio. For the return journey follow the coast back towards Cwmtydu. If you're feeling adventurous you can scramble down to the beach at Castell Bach.
